The room is all ready for the school.

Capt. Eddie Stuart speaks to the group.

Chuck Spaulding from Pure Fishing speaks.

Bill DeVito speaks on marine electronics.

Rick Bennett speaks on inshore fishing Rod-Man style.

The First Annual Rod-Man Fishing School was a great success. With over sixty participants and four instructors, we covered topics such as fly-fishing the flats, marine electronics, the latest from Pure Fishing (makers of Berkley and many other products) and inshore fishing Rod-Man style. Plans are already underway for next year's school and will be announced late this summer.

One participant writes:

"I just wanted to let you know that I appreciated the school immensely. My son and I had several things we wanted to learn and I think we covered all of them pretty well. I also think that is what many others wanted as well - some about artificials, some about live bait, some about technique, and of course location or rather what to look for in a location.

One thing you should probably have mentioned was that Tex closes at 6 and not open on Sunday. There were many from the class there when I got there and his business was rather brisk.

You mentioned at the end of the day about big spanish in April and early May, did you say around the wrecks, beach or over structure(John's Creek)? I know we heard you say to not even work a gotcha just reel very fast, I was thinking crippled herring would work as well as other jigs."

Captains:

Thanks for making a nice Saturday absolutely wonderful. You guys did a fantastic job. I had two objectives when I signed up;

1. Learning something. That was easy. The information you gave us is great. I'll be putting it to use soon.

2. Make some new friends. We did that. What a great group of people. I did make some new friends.

When using these new braided lines in Hi Vis ok?, or should we buy something in the green or dark colors? Does it matter to the fish when you use a leader?

Thanks again for a GREAT DAY!!
